This song was written as a realistic adaptation of some of the circumstances that lead to division, revengel and tragedies in our cities, particularly urban families and communities.
As a result of many negative systemic influences that plague our culture, the results are catastrophic. Domestic abuse, black on black violence (including other ethnicities), vandalism, homicide, suicide, childhood pregnancy and broken homes have become the norm. While most of the recent media attention has been focused primarily on police brutality and the need for reform, these other proverbial elephants have been swept under the rug amongst our own people as if we have nothing to do with those issues!
